Fridays lesson we looked at the difference between hackers and crackers. Not many people know that there is a difference as in todays day and age there is no difference.

Hackers are most often programmers. As such, hackers obtain advanced knowledge of operating systems and programming languages. They might discover holes within systems and the reasons for such holes. Hackers constantly seek further knowledge, freely share what they have discovered, and never intentionally damage data.

A cracker is one who breaks into and violates the system integrity of remote machines with malicious intent. Having gained unauthorized access, crackers destroy vital data, deny legitimate users service, or cause problems for their targets. Crackers can easily be identified because their actions are malicious.

we then breifly looked at Viruses, Trojans, Back doors, Worms and Phreaking. We know that there is not one system that is 100 safe from these. The lecture was not to long as we were set a task to write a one page report on If hacking is good or bad? we had one and a half hours to complete this. I said hacking was bad companies should not have to have hackers to test the systems and fix them. Companies are at risk by employing hackers as recent case have shown many hackers destroying company systems costing them the company loads of money.

i enjoyed this task as it helped me realise that i can work well under pressure. And i also got to learn more about hacking.

����� I am obviously at muh girl Tinaapos;s. The weekend/ week has been pretty out of the ordinary. I have never hated my father so much, Heapos;s angry at me for "abusing time" at Tinaapos;s house. I slept in today. Paul had school and the girls were with Mimi Bev and Papa Ralph. It was nice. I set an alarm for 9:00 and ignored it. I didnapos;t get much done, but felt rested. I did most of the clean up last night from the scrapbooking group. I realized this morning that I took down all of the table and should have left one set up. I vacuumed and set the table back up because we had Paulapos;s MBA group over for dinner. His team is Amanda and Steve (they live together in Ann Arbor) and Billy. Billy brought his wife (who is gorgeous) and their 3 girls (also beautiful). It was really nice. Everyone headed home around 8:30. Iapos;ve been hearing about them for a couple of weeks now, so itapos;s nice to get faces to put with the names.

Yesterday, was apos;thatapos; day. You know? The one when school staff tihnk it will be funny to make us run a long distance like free range animals. Thankfully, they gave the option of allowing us to dress up and go crazy which kind of made the day more fun than torture. I canapos;t believe itapos;s our years last Fun Run. Theyapos;ve only just started making it some fun dress up event and weapos;re not there next year, iapos;m going to miss the school.

As a member of the Prom Committee I was put in the catergory to help out with awards and the fashion show. Word spread round that I was looking for a few people to advertise dresses and suits but now iapos;ve ended up with 21 people in my little black book. Whatapos;s shocking is that I never thought most of them people would bother applying. Iapos;m going to cut down the list by a lot though, it seems like a tv show -�Seafordapos;s Next Top Model...LMAO Yes I know itapos;s lame.
